Books, books and more books

I realise it's been a long time since I posted anything, and mainly that's been for lack of "interesting" things to post - if there is anyone still reading this blog then I'm sure daily accounts of crammed commuter trains and work assignments would have sent you all fleeing. In small ways, things have changed a lot for me in 2006, although it's hard to write up these very gradual developments into really gripping blog prose. Sigh.

Still, this year I set out with some very concrete resolutions and, to my own surprise as much as anyone else's, have achieved most of what I set out to. I learnt to cook, got promoted, improved my Japanese and started to build a healthier lifestyle, among a load of other things. I've also read more this year (voluntarily!) than any year since uni, a variety of fiction and non-fiction including books in French and Japanese as well as English, books that have taken me all around the world and made me reconsider my place in it (as well as, thankfully, distracting me from the stresses and smells of the aforementioned commuter trains!) [The full list is on myspace - take a look.]

Anyway, I'm posting this from Aomori so should at least have some photos to post when I get back... Here's to 2007 and I hope it will be a bright and fulfilling year for everyone!
