☆Birthday Moose☆

Yes Folks, it's that time of year again... Moose has turned the grand old age of twenty-five (such a significant age, don't get me started...!)

Had the pleasure this year of being able to celebrate with Tess, Best Friend of Birthdays Past, which was immensely cool - we made a night of it at Hazuki, a great little Japanese restaurant near Charing Cross, even run by Japanese - and we had all the best bits - gyoza, kara-age, yaki-tori, sushi, and of course a healthy dose of kappa-maki (all washed down with copious amounts of wine). Much hilarity followed. For the sake of politeness I have skipped the photos featuring oven gloves, though they were many and gorgeous. Just a couple below to give you a flavour.

I don't have any photos of birthday night - was planned to be a quiet one at the local (surprise) curry place but in the end we kind of had a party at the restaurant and then all went out afterwards, waiters and all; suffice it to say much fun was had.

Lastly thank you to all the people who sent mails and post from near and far - particularly for the Daikon seeds - Kathryn I am eternally indebted! Classic.

Will try and do something exciting to post soon!!

Me, poised to throw gyoza down cleavage.

What you need to know about Tess at this point is that she generally HATES fish! (but not any more...!!)

Friends for more than half our lives... waiting for the tube

Blurry Tube - you can kinda see how the evening went...

Funnily enough...

Your True Love Is a Scorpio

Why you'll love a Scorpio:

Strong and sexy, Scorpio will overpower you into falling in love (before you even realize it!).
You'll love being swept away by Scorpio - into a world of insane passion.

Why a Scorpio will love you:

You don't mind letting your Scorpio take the reigns, as long as you know you're truly cared for.
Loyal and devoted, you would never do anything to set off insanely jealous Scorpio.
OK, I was bored, I know it's just a superstitious coincidence... lol

Durham - 29 April

On the second day of my trip up north, Kat, Nico and I went to Durham, for more castles and cathedrals ...

This was the view of the cathedral on the way in

Durham was full of winding cobbled streets... like this one...

I'm worried that Nico will feel left out that all the pictures are of me and Kat, so here's one of Nico thrown in for luck

With Kat at Durham Cathedral

The castle is owned by the university and apparently students LIVE in it... so jealous!!

Cross on the hillside

Apparently they use these cloisters for filming bits of Harry Potter

More cloisters

Then we went to the pub for Sunday lunch... boredom hit while we were waiting to be served ...

Lounging about in the pub

This sweet stall had 25 different flavours of fudge!!

Newcastle - April 28

Finally - here are the pictures from the day I spent with Nico sightseeing and moosing about in Newcastle. We had a really awesome day, the weather was great, and after spending the morning seeing all the interesting (and odd) things in Newcastle, we went out to the beach and wound up with a helping of proper fish and chips.

Can't remember the name of this building but it was a theatre

Can't remember the name of the street either!!

Nico took me to see the Vampire Rabbit, which hangs over the door of a pink house... so bizarre!

Newcastle Cathedral

Next we wandered down to the castle - which has a railway cutting through the middle of it. I love castles...

Me at the gateway

The New (though clearly old) Castle

Nico knocks on the castle door...

We finally found the way out on the castle roof

The view back into town

Looking up/down? the Tyne from the top of the castle

The Sage - designed by the same guy who created the Gerkin, apparently.

While we were having lunch we got to see them open the millenium bridge - the walkway gets raised up on these wires so the boat can go through.

After lunch we took the metro out to Tynemouth and had a look around the market at the station. It was at this point that Nico spotted Parsnip, a moose patiently awaiting for adoption... who could say no? From this point any remainding trace of seriousness vanished from the day as Parsnip goes on his first adventure...

At Tynemouth we saw this fantastic castle jutting out into the sea

やっぱりー

You Are Kermit

Hi, ho! Lovable and friendly, you get along well with everyone you know.
You're a big thinker, and sometimes you over think life's problems.
Don't worry - everyone know's it's not easy being green.
Just remember, time's fun when you're having flies!

And there will be...
